Table Rock in South Carolina is a park I need to explore further. It was a perfect place to enjoy the last of the fall. It has two lakes, the mountain for which it is named, waterfalls, picnicking, camping, etc. The Carrick Creek Trail is a 2 mile loop, very scenic, but very crowded (too crowded for our taste during the pandemic). Pick an off day to hike this trail and make sure to register at the entrance. Pictures below are from that hike.

Away from the crowds was a beautiful lodge with a nice overlook of the lake and the mountain. Gaines Lodge hosts weddings, receptions, and meetings. For more information visit https://southcarolinaparks.com/table-rock/lodge

Update: I just completed the Table Rock Trail: This is a tough hike but the views are worth it! Start from the nature center and you must register there prior to hiking. The hike starts with part of the Carrick Creek Trail (see above) and then you will branch off to follow the Red blazes. The hike is 3.6 miles one way and strenuous. There are some steep sections but my dog was able to complete the hike with me. You will find multiple places to enjoy the view along the way. When you reach the summit, you are not at the end of the hike. Keep going, and the trail starts to go back down for a bit-keep following the red blazes on the rocks. The end view is well worth continuing on and completing the trail for. Pictures below.

Admission to the park: 6$ a person for a day pass, annual passes also available.

Address: 158 E. Ellison Ln, Pickens, SC 29671

This post will be updated as I visit more and try out more of the trails/activities it has to offer.
