Beaches Can Heal
Personal note: I’ve been on a long hiatus from exploring while taking care of a sick pup. I recently had to let go of my best friend, my dog Lexi. She was the best travel and hiking partner I could’ve asked for, and even though it’s not the same without her I will continue to honor her on every mile I walk from here on out. After we said goodbye, my husband and I took our other two dogs out into nature to heal and we ended up driving to Edisto Beach in South Carolina. I highly recommend getting outside, smelling some fresh air, and taking a walk when mourning the loss of a loved one. I’m sending hugs to any of my followers who have had to say goodbye to their best friends as well. I’ll hike for them too.

Edisto Beach, South Carolina: Dog Friendly
Edisto Beach in South Carolina: great option for dog owners. From May 1-Oct 31: dogs allowed on leash. Nov 1-April 30: dogs allowed off leash. I’m sure during peak season the parking is more difficult and the beaches crowded, but during the off season there was parking available everywhere and the beach was peaceful.

Parking: 38 public beach access points-parking is free. Parking allowed at these sites from 6 AM to 10 PM
