Victoria Bryant State Park is a hidden gem located in Royston, GA. The most popular section is along a rushing stream that flows through the park. There are multiple places to picnic, lounge on rocks along the water, or take a walk along the water’s edge (green blaze). There is a vehicle water crossing to the other side of the stream. A more challenging, less populated trail is the broad river loop trail (purple blazes). Entering the park, there are a few parking spaces to the left (usually available), directly across from a fishing pond. The boardwalk by the fishing pond leads to the red trail at the far end of the pond. Taking this trail, you will border a golf course and follow through the woods, crossing the road a couple times, and if you stay to the right the purple trail will eventually veer off to the right. Crossing the road again you will follow the purple blazes to the broad river loop trail. It is a quiet trail with a view of the broad river (a bench along the loop offers a good view and rest break on the hike). A short cut trail, the beaver loop trail, leads to an overlook platform of wetlands and sometimes wildlife can be spotted here. The broad river loop trail (purple) is 3.5 miles, and the total distance of this hike from the parking area, the red trail to purple, and back again is approximately 5 miles.

Park entrance fee is 5$ or an annual park pass is 50$ good for entrance to all GA state parks.
