Providence Canyon is a unique state park in southern GA (somewhat close to Columbus). It has the nickname “Little Grand Canyon,” but those of us who have been to national parks out west would compare it more to Bryce Canyon in Utah. It is listed as one of Georgia’s Seven Wonders, which is interesting because this park was created by erosion due to farming. You can stay on the rim but to really appreciate this park you should also take the moderate 4.8 mile loop which starts at the rim and descends to the canyon floor, showcasing the different formations. Day use fee: 5$. Annual passes that cover all GA state parks: 50$.
