Oak Island/Southport, NC - Southeast To Start

My favorite Christmas present was the one in which we didn’t exchange any gifts but spent time together on this beautiful beach in NC. Dogs are allowed on the beach in the off season and if you’re looking for a clean and quiet beach to escape to, this is it. The town of Southport is full of charm with shops and restaurants along the water. A must do while here is to take the 20 minute ferry from Southport to Bald Head Island. There are no cars and you can rent golf carts to explore the island. Ferry fee: 23$ round trip. The ferry leaves on the hour from Southport. Try a Christmas that doesn’t involve anything materialistic but makes memories.
